Maserati - original 1970s Manhattan Windsor restored vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original Maserati keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1970s which we have had restored and have then remounted onto a new leather keyfob.

We have just this one keyring with this restored badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Quite a few years ago we remounted and sold a couple of these rare Maserati keyfob badges and did not seen any further examples since until a couple of years ago when we received two more badges .

We have now received just one more badge which is listed here restored and remounted onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather .

Over the years the nickel plating had dulled – so we have had this badge restored by having the nickel plating renewed .

The vitreous enamel detail on the badge was in very good condition – so re-enamelling was not necessary .

The solid red, white & dark navy blue vitreous enamel is original .

Even though the badge has been replated the finish is not perfect – the nickel plating is not a mirror finish .

Additionally the definition around ‘ MASERATI ‘ within the red enamel is not as clear cut as we would have liked and the text stands slightly proud of the enamel and can be felt like braille !

We are listing this keyring at a lower price than the others which we have sold on account of these ‘ deficiencies ‘ which can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .

Seen at lifesize with the naked eye the ‘deficiencies’ are not as noticeable and this is still a very rare badge .

This badge will have been produced in the 1970s by Manhattan Windsor badgemakers of Birmingham.

At that time almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were produced in England – it was quite an industry.

This original restored keyfob badge is original & correct for use with any 1970s or early 1980s Maserati motor car.
