Maserati – vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a new leather keyfob

A vitreous enamel Maserati keyfob badge in new condition which will have been produced in Birmingham within the last few years for the classic car market which we have mounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

This is NOT an original vintage badge – it will probably have been produced just a few years ago.

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer  – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

Superb quality ‘old school’ vitreous enamel badges like these were produced in Birmingham until fairly recently .

Marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND’ on the reverse of the badge .

This badge may have been used ( it arrived with us together with other used badges ) but does appear to be in new condition .

Curiously the ‘legs’ of the little metal loop which retains the thin strip of leather which mounts the badge to the leather keyfob are of slightly different thicknesses – this can be seen in the enlarged high resolution photos ……………..so the badge could be a little older than we suspect .

We have remounted this badge onto a new leather keyfob in black saddlery hide with a very distinctive ‘ vintage’ grain .

Sadly vitreous enamel badges like this one are apparently no longer produced in England .

This badge is very similar to the original keyfob badges which were produced in the 1960s & 1970s – but this badge is not an original 1960s or 1970s badge, it was produced much later .

New reproduction badges will now usually be produced in modern resin based enamel – not vitreous enamel like this one – they are most unlikely to have ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ marked on the reverse because they are no longer made in England .
