Massey Harris - original late 1950s? keychain

£95.00

1 in stock

An original Massey Harris keychain which we would think will have been produced in the late 1950s although it could have been produced slightly later.

The keychain in the photos is the only one which we have to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This is the only Massey Harris keyring or keychain which we have ever seen and listed – a very rare item .

This nickel plated keychain is in very good condition – the red vitreous enamelling is in exceptionally good condition for it’s age with just one small chip at the base of the badge .

The reverse of the badge depicts a Massey Harris tractor and the word ‘DRAGO’ which we would think will be the manufacturer of the keychain .

The badge measures 33mm in diameter and is connected to the key clasp by means of a short nickel plated chain .

The clasp is in good working order and does have something inscribed on the top – this could be ‘COOPER MM ‘ but is too small and too shallowly marked to be sure .

In 1953 Massey Harris merged with The Ferguson Co. to eventually become Massey Ferguson in 1958 .

It is unlikely ( but possible ) that this keychain dates from before 1953 – so we would think that it was produced shortly after Massey Harris became Massey Ferguson – there would still have been plenty of Massey Harris tractors in full time work at that time .

Additionally the Massey Harris triple series tractors did remain in production until 1958 .

The keychain in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
