An original Mercedes Benz keyring which we would think will have been issued in the 1970s or 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This is the only example of one of these keyrings which we have ever listed over the years .

Another  excellent example of a high quality keyring which will have been issued with a new Mercedes Benz motor car 40 years or so ago – with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine leather .

This keyring is in very good condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a genuine leather keyfob in navy blue leather with contrasting stitching .

Many original keyrings for Mercedes Benz were produced in navy blue leather at the time .

The nickel plated vitreous enamel badge is in excellent condition and marked on the back ‘ CAXTON of KEW ‘ .

Caxton were a very well respected London badgemaker who sadly went out of business many years ago – interesting that a London firm made this keyring which was obviously intended for issuing with a new Mercedes Benz motor car being collected personally from Mercedes Benz at Stuttgart .

Having said that – almost all car keyrings were being produced in England at that time so maybe not surprising .

Maybe a particular UK dealer was running a ‘promotion’ where customers were able to collect their new car from Stuttgart and have a short holiday there at the same time ?

40 years ago it would have been ‘quite something ‘ to have been buying a new Mercedes Benz motor car …………these days the cars are numerous with several on every street .

The leather keyfob is also in good condition having the usual pleasing appearance of a ‘ worn in ‘ leather keyfob which has covered a good many miles in it’s life but has very many miles left in it yet !

This keyring would be the perfect addition to a car known to have been collected personally from Stuttgart at the time or could be used with any Mercedes Benz car of the period.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
