Mercedes Benz - original vintage 1980s? London dealership keyring in blue leather

An original Mercedes Benz London dealership keyring which we would think will have been issued in the 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

A good example of the type of high quality keyring which would have been issued with a new Mercedes Benz motor car 30 or 40 years or so ago – with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine leather .

The dealership who issued this keyring even attended to the small detail of using navy blue leather for the keyfob  ( Many original keyrings for Mercedes Benz were produced in navy blue leather at the time )

The keyring is in good serviceable condition .

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine navy blue leather gold embossed with the details of the London dealership with branches in Mayfair & Chelsea .

The embossed details are no longer easily read – but we know that the dealership was Bradshaw & Webb with branches in Mayfair & Chelsea .

The vitreous enamel badge is in good condition with a granulated ground beneath the central translucent blue enamel which gives a most attractive ‘ glittering’ effect .

The leather keyfob is also in good condition with the usual pleasing appearance of a ‘ worn in ‘ leather keyfob which has covered a good many miles in it’s life but has very many miles left in it yet !

Identical keyrings for this dealership and other dealerships were made by Caxton of Kew – Caxtons were known for producing high quality keyrings at the time and have now sadly been closed for many years .

We would think that this keyring could have been made by Caxtons – but the reverse of the badge is simply marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND ‘.

This keyring would be the perfect addition to a car known to have been supplied by this dealership at the time or could be used with any Mercedes Benz car of the period.

We do not generally list original dealership keyrings for many makes of car – but there seems to be particular interest by owners of Mercedes Benz cars and we receive quite a few original Mercedes Benz dealership keyfob badges for remounting – which is not the case for other makes of car .
