Mercedes Benz – original vintage 1990s new old stock Manhattan Windsor keyring – collector’s item

Original new old stock Manhattan Windsor Mercedes Benz keyrings which will have been produced in the 1990s .

We currently have several of these keyrings in this new old stock condition to offer and are most unlikely to ever find 30 year old original new old stock Mercedes Benz keyrings of this quality to offer at this price again !

When all the keyrings have been sold this listing will be cancelled .

These absolutely superb keyrings are in brand new old stock condition and will never have been used.

The nickel plated badges are enamelled in jewellery quality cobalt blue vitreous enamel and are mounted onto genuine full grain black leather keyfobs which are gold embossed on the reverse :- ‘ TOP GRAIN LEATHER ‘ .

The badges are perforated – with 3 sections milled out of the badge so that the black leather keyfob can be seen through the perforations in the badge .

This was standard practice for Mercedes Benz keyfob badges produced in the 1980s – and has been carried over here into the 1990s .

Manhattan Windsor’s details were marked onto the reverse of the badges prior to them having the perforations milled out – all that remains is the MA of ‘MANHATTAN’ and the DSOR of ‘WINDSOR’ together with what remains of ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’ – just part of the N & then the  D of ‘ENGLAND ‘ .

For reasons of economy Manhattan Windsor cast the badges from solid original dies and then chose to mill the sections out rather than have new dies produced.

The keyrings are still mounted onto the original Manhattan Windsor display cards and are still within the original ( now rather brittle ) cellophane sleeves – one of which has been opened for the first time in 30 years for the keyring to be photographed.

Sleeves will be opened before keyrings are supplied – to check the quality of the keyring within before being posting out .

Manhattan Windsor have now sadly been closed for many years – they have come to be recognised as having been the finest British manufacturer of top quality automotive keyrings and their products were exported all over the world .

The quality of their leather automotive keyrings has never been equalled before or since .

Superb quality British made keyrings the like of which we will probably never see again .

The keyring in the photos is an actual example of the keyring which you will receive .

These keyrings will be original & correct for use with any late 1980s – early 2000s Mercedes Benz car but could also be used as ‘retro’ keyring in a much later car – many drivers of the superb later cars that Mercedes Benz produce prefer to still drive with a traditional leather keyring ………like we do !
