The keyring in this listing is an original Mercury keyring which will have been produced over 45Â years ago .
An original Mercury Cougar keyring which will have been produced in the 1970s .
We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
This keyring is in new old stock condition with an acrylic dome badge .
The black keyfob has a glossy grained texture and does resemble faux leather ………………but it does look to be in genuine leather .
Made by Renamel of London who were the first keyring manufacturer to offer keyrings like these with acrylic dome badges .
These acrylic badges were quite a revelation at the time and did not chip when dropped onto a hard surface like the traditional vitreous enamel keyfob badges .
The reverse of the badges on their earliest keyrings were marked ‘RENAMEL london england ‘ – like this one .
In the 1960s & 1970s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were produced in England – it was quite an industry
