£65.00

3 in stock

Four original MG keyfob badges which we would think will have been produced in the early 1970s which we have remounted onto new leather keyfobs as can be seen in the photos .

We have just 4 keyrings with these badges to offer – when all 4 have been sold then this listing will be cancelled.

These original black vitreous enamel on gilt MG keyfob badges were produced by the well respected Manhattan Windsor Co. in Birmingham – sadly now closed

Manhattan Windsor were the chosen manufacturer for most MG keyfob badges and keyrings at the time .

Their details are cast onto the back of each badge.

These badges were apparently never issued – as we have never seen any examples of this exact design in circulation.

We have mounted the badges onto new keyfobs in black saddlery hide .

Even though the badges are probably new old stock they do have a most attractive aged appearance .

The original shine of the gilt plating has mellowed over the years in storage to an ‘antique’ gold lustre.

By the mid 1970s gilt plated keyfob badges seem to have given way to bright chrome or nickel plated badges.

We have fitted splitrings with bronze plating which is a good match for the badges.

The badges will have been lacquered when they were made to protect the gilt plating and this can still be seen on the surface of the enamel .

The badges are date correct for later MGB & MGB GT MK II & Mk III and ( rubber bumper ) MGB – also MGB GT V8 together with later Midget .

There are no hard & fast rules because owners would buy a keyring and then use it for years in a succession of later cars.

The keyrings in the group photo are the actual keyrings which you will receive – this listing is for just one keyring .
