An original MG keyring which will have been produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s by a British Company known as ‘Trend’ .
Very few of these MG Trend keyrings can ever have been produced – this is only the 2nd complete example which we have listed over the years .
This keyring is original & correct for use with any late 1960s or 1970s MG motor car .
The keyring is in very good condition with a nickel plated vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .
The keyring was made by a manufacturing business whose trademark was ‘Trend’ – their name is gold embossed onto the back of the keyfob within a stylised flag – we do see examples of their keyrings for other makes of car from time to time.
In the 1960s and 1970s almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.
Despite comprehensive research we have never discovered who Trend actually were !
Small enamelling businesses came & went rather rapidly in the 1960s – many were based in the Birmingham area which had a tradition of vitreous enamelling.
There may have been a tie-up with a badgemaker known as ‘Alexander’ – occasionally a badge marked ‘Alexander’ crops up mounted onto a ‘Trend’ leather keyfob.
This keyring was a top quality British made item produced at a time when many items like this were becoming mass produced & very poorly finished .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason or cancel your order – a full refund will be given.
