1 in stock
An original Gale Melville MG keyring which will have been issued by this Scottish dealership during the late 1950s or possibly the early 1960s .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
Dating from the late 1950s or very early 1960s – when there were plenty of MGAs, Magnettes and still some MGTDs & MGTFs in daily use on the roads – this keyring will have been issued with a new car supplied by the Kirkaldy Scotland dealership whose details can still be made out on the reverse of the leather keyfob .
The nickel plated translucent red vitreous enamel badge is in good condition for it’s age and is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine light tan leather which is still in good serviceable condition despite having become well worn in like a comfortable pair of boots .
The dealership’s details are gold embossed onto the reverse of the keyfob .
Made by Gale Melville Ltd of Surbiton in Surrey – one of the first manufacturers of automotive keyrings – their details are marked on the back of the badge .
Keyrings like this one were produced to be used in open top MG cars in all weathers and not many original MG leather keyrings like this one will have survived at all .
MGTD ( 1949 – 1953 ) & MGTF ( 1953 – 1958 ) were produced just before car keyrings came into general use but a 2nd hand TD or TF being sold by this dealership could well have been issued with this keyring .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
