MG ( TD, TF & MGA ) - original late 1950s shield badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original MG keyfob badge which will have been produced in the late 1950s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when this keyring with this badge has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring has an original late 1950s vitreous enamel on gilt nickel plated shield badge which we have remounted onto a new keyfob in full grain ‘vintage ‘ black leather .

The badge and shield are in good serviceable condition but age worn as can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos .

The gilt octagon has become polished and worn with many years of use and probably very many thousands of miles covered .

The black enamel detail has chips and the back of the shield has lost some of the nickel plating ( although that can only be seen when the badge is flipped up from the leather keyfob – in other words not very often .

A badge like this has become a ‘ road warrior ‘ and think of the MG motoring tales it could tell of it’s journeys through the years .

Now ready to carry on it’s journeys for many years to come mounted onto a brand new leather keyfob .

The badge will probably have been made with MGA or MG Magnette in mind – in the late 1950s there were many thousands of these cars in daily use on the roads .

It could also have been purchased at the time on a keyring for use with MGTD or MGTF – as car keyrings only started to become widely available in the late 1950s – a few years after those cars were built and owners tended to buy a keyring to use with the car as keyrings became available .
