Monza Garage – new old stock ? 1960s/ 1970s ? keyring ?

What appears to be an original Monza Garage keyfob badge which we would assume was produced in the 1960s or 1970s which has been mounted onto a later keyfob .

We have just this one keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

We have previously listed and sold two of these Monza Garage keyfob badges which we remounted onto new leather keyfobs at the time .

Both of those were in gilt plate ( the badge on the keyfob in this listing is in bright nickel plate ) and would have been original badges dating from the time .

The badge on this keyfob in this listing is in brand new mint condition but is in vitreous enamel -so it has not been produced recently as almost all keyfob badges produced now are in modern resin based hard enamel .

The badge is marked with Melsom Products of Birmingham details – but they closed around the early to mid 1970s .

We can only assume that this badge is an original item dating from the 1960s/1970s that has been remounted at a later stage but do have our doubts on account of the mint condition of the badge and the fact that it is mounted onto a much later faux leather keyfob .

Having said all that – this is a lovely badge solidly mounted onto a later keyfob and should be bought without worrying about it’s age & provenance !
