This is the very nicest keyring which we have ever listed for Morris 1800.
New old stock – so in mint condition – with a perfect vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a genuine leather keyfob .
Dating from the early 1970s this keyring has been in store for over 40 years and is new old stock having never been used.
Made by a manufacturing business whose trademark was ‘Trend’ as can be seen embossed onto the back of the keyfob- we do see examples of their keyrings for other makes of car from time to time.
Despite comprehensive research we have never discovered who they actually were ! Small enamelling businesses came & went rather rapidly in the 1960s and 1970s – many were based in the Birmingham area which had a tradition of vitreous enamelling.
There may have been a tie-up with a badgemaker known as ‘Alexander’ – occasionally a badge marked ‘Alexander’ crops up mounted onto a ‘Trend’ leather keyfob.
A top quality British made item produced at a time when many items like this were becoming mass produced & very poorly finished.
This keyring is original & correct for 1964 -1975 Morris 1800.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
