An original Moskvich keyfob badge which we would think will have been produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This vitreous enamel on gilt badge was heavily tarnished when we received it – see the reverse of the badge which has not been restored .

In that case we have re-polished the face of the badge and have applied a very thin ‘ whiff’ of lacquer to preserve the polish .

This will eventually wear off if the keyring is used and the badge will remain bright if in use .

If the keyring is then not used for a period of time the badge will dull but a quick rub over with a rag will soon restore the polished appearance .

The reverse of the badge has not been restored and is marked ‘ MADE IN ENGLAND ‘ .

At that time almost all keyrings for tthe world’s cars were produced in England – it was quite an industry .

The name ‘Moskvich’ translates as ‘A Person of Moscow’ and the the last examples of the cars were brought into the UK in 1976.

The cars were sturdy and reliable and ideal as a low cost form of transport – particularly on the substandard roads of Europe at that time.

Customers in The Soviet Union famously had to wait a very long time for a new car.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.

When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
