Moskvich - rare original 1970s keyring

An original vintage Moskvich keyring which will have been produced in the 1970s.

The keyring is in excellent condition with a vinyl decal badge applied to a plated metal mount which is in turn mounted onto a black keyfob gold embossed ‘REAL LEATHER – MADE in ENGLAND’

At that time almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.

The name ‘Moskvich’ translates as ‘A Person of Moscow’ and the the last examples of the cars were brought into the UK in 1976.

The cars were sturdy and reliable and ideal as a low cost form of transport – particularly on the substandard roads of Europe at that time.

Customers in The Soviet Union famously had to wait a very long time for a new car.

Although we never owned a Moskvich car we did use a Soviet made Belarus 4 wheel drive tractor at the time for general haulage in the woods – and it proved to be an excellent investment – totally reliable and up to the job it was designed to do at all times and in all conditions.
