Mumford of Plymouth - original vintage late 1950s Rolls Royce & Bentley agent keytag - collector's item

An original W. Mumford Ltd of Plymouth Rolls Royce & Bentley Agents keytag which will have been issued in the late 1950s.

We have just this one example of this keytag – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

W. Mumford Ltd were well known Plymouth coachbuilders who converted to Ministry of Aircraft work during WW II .

Between 1940 & 1944 they produced fuselage and carried out repair work to damaged aircraft .

After the war in 1946 they became the Devon & Cornwall Agency for supplying new Rolls Royce & Bentley motor cars .

In 1959 they moved from the Abbey Garage in Plymouth to Laira Bridge Road .

This keytag was issued from Abbey Garage – so it will date from before 1959 .

Car keyrings did not appear until around the mid 1950s – so this keytag will date from around 1955 – 1959 .

This keytag is in excellent condition and is made of celluloid and engraved with MUMFORD’s details .

It measures 1.5″ (  40mm ) in width .

What a superb item to place with a car known to have been supplied by Mumfords in the late 1950s.

Unsurprisingly this is the only example of this keytag which we have ever seen & listed and the one in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
