MV Agusta – original vitreous enamel badge inlaid into a leather keyfob

An original MV vitreous enamel badge which we have inlaid into a leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one example of this keyring with this rare badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This is NOT an original MV keyring ……….it is a keyring which we have produced using an original vitreous enamel badge which will have some age to it as it has been produced in vitreous enamel .

Original MV keyrings are like the proverbial hen’s teeth – so rare that over almost 20 years we have only ever listed one original keyfob badge which we remounted onto a new leather keyfob .

Some time back we took this badge into stock with the intention of producing a keyring using it – but that’s as far as we got until recently .

The badge is in good condition ( but not perfect as can be seen in the photos ) with nickel plating and solid white & blue vitreous enamelling .

A customer then sent us an identical badge ( also curiously in the same condition as though the badges would not have been perfect even when new ) which he wanted us to inlay into a keyring – so having made his we then decided to make a keyring using our own badge as well .

We are not too sure what this badge would originally have been intended for – being in vitreous enamel it obviously has some age about it .

Maybe a tank badge ? ………….we really do not know .

Quite a large badge measuring 35mm in diameter .

The badge was fitted onto an oversized baseplate which was then sandwiched inside the 2 layers of leather comprising the keyfob .

The leather keyfob is bonded rather than being stitched as there was insufficient space around the badge to allow for stitching .

So the keyring itself is relatively large measuring 45mm in width x 80mm in total height including the splitring .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .

The other one is with our customer – who was very pleased with the result .
