Opel – original vintage 1970s new old stock vinyl decal keyring

An original Opel keyring which will have been produced during the 1970s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring is in new old stock condition with a vinyl decal inserted within a plated metal badge base mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather gold embossed ‘REAL LEATHER – MADE IN ENGLAND’

Keyrings like this one were produced as ‘budget’ keyrings in the late 1960s and 1970s – they did not have the high quality vitreous enamel badges which many keyrings had – neither did they cost as much .

Furthermore the vinyl badge was much more resilient as it didn’t break or chip when dropped onto a hard surface !

Surprisingly few of these keyrings have survived whereas the more expensive versions tended to be stored away at the back of drawers rather than being thrown away when they were no longer being used.

This particular keyring is unusual in that it has a good quality genuine leather keyfob – most were produced with imitation leather keyfobs .

Whilst keyrings like this one were not produced to the same standards as many original Opel keyrings they are much rarer for the reasons stated – this particular example is the only one which we have ever listed and is a superb example of a type of keyring which was actually used in the cars at the time .
