1 in stock
An original H.W. Motors Ltd dealership keyring which we would think will date from the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .
We have just this one example of this keyring with this badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .
This original jewellery quality vitreous enamel H.W. Motors keyfob badge is in really excellent condition as can be seen in the photos .
It is the only example of this particular badge which we have ever listed .
The badge was produced by the very well respected firm of badgemakers Caxton of Kew who have sadly been closed for a very long time .
The ‘phone no. on the badge – Walton on Thames 20404-6 – is pre-STD code – so we would think that the badge dates from the 1960s .
We have listed very few original HWM keyrings and keyfob badges over the years .
HWM ( Hersham & Walton Motors Ltd ) of Walton on Thames are a prestigious Aston Martin dealership which can trace it’s roots back to the late 1940s when it began building Jaguar racing cars.
In 1953 the Company began producing cars with modified Jaguar XK engines – some of these raced in Formula 2.
HWM also produced a Jaguar powered car for Formula 1.
Sadly one of the 2 partners – John Heath – died in 1956 in an HWM Jaguar as a result of an accident  during the Mille Miglia road race.
The other partner – George Abecassis gave up with the racing and concentrated on his expanding garage business which remains on the same site to this day.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and would be a valuable addition to an Aston Martin , Daimler or Jaguar car known to have been supplied by the dealership at the time.
Bud Marston’s very well known major work ‘Vintage Jaguar Keyrings ‘ featured in the Jaguar section of our website shop illustrates and describes a couple of original HWM keyrings one of which was produced by Caxton of Kew – Bud’s example by Caxtons was produced later than the badge which we have remounted here in this listing .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
