Packard – original late 1950s/ early 1960s ? vitreous enamel keyfob badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original  Packard vitreous enamel keyfob badge which we would think will have been produced in the late 1950s or early 1960s when there were still Packards in daily use on the roads of USA .

We have remounted the badge onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

Original Packard keyrings seem to be very scarce items and to the best of our memory we have only ever listed and sold just one other example over the years apart from the Packard Automobile Classics keyring currently listed here in our Packard section ( unless now sold )

The keyring in this listing has a keyfob badge which came to us loose and we have remounted it onto a new keyfob in full grain black leather .

The badge is in jewellery quality vitreous enamel and is in mint condition – a lovely little thing .

So special is this badge that we have gone to the trouble to hand cut and hand stitch a bespoke leather keyfob specially to suit the badge .

Quite a small badge and the leather keyfob measures just 3.25″ ( 85mm) in length including the gold plated splitring .

Yes – it is a genuine gold plated splitring !

These do not tarnish in use like brass plated splitrings and are worth paying the relatively small extra price.

The final Packards were produced in Indiana USA in 1958 – just as the very first car keyrings were beginning to appear .

So that will probably be the reason why so few original Packard keyrings will have been produced.

We would think that this particular badge will have been produced in the late 1950s or early 1960s but it could have been produced slightly later as plenty of Packards will have been around in the 1960s which keyrings could be used with .
