1 in stock
An original AFN Porsche dealership keyring which we would think will have been produced during the 1990s .
We have just this one example of this keyring in this used condition to offer ( only the 2nd example of an original AFN keyring which we have ever listed ) – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
This keyring was produced by Manhattan Products of Birmingham who have become recognised as being the premier manufacturer of a large range of the finest British automotive keyrings ever produced – sadly they closed their doors some time ago having produced keyrings for over 30 years .
The keyring has a nickel plated metal badge with jewellery quality vitreous enamelling of the highest standard .
The reverse of the badge has Manhattan’s details inscribed.
The badge is mounted onto a keyfob of generous thickness in genuine black saddlery hide which is gold embossed ‘ GENUINE HIDE’ on the reverse of the keyfob .
This keyring is in very good condition although it has been used .
There are no enamel chips or scratches in the enamel and the leather keyfob is in very good condition – just a few marks in the leather from the badge corners which can be seen in the enlarged high resolution listing photos – and a small mark in the leather on the reverse of the keyfob .
The initials AFN stood for Archibald ( Archie) Frazer Nash who founded Frazer Nash cars in the 1930s.
In 1954 AFN Ltd signed an agreement and began importing the first Porsche cars into Britain .
In 1956 they became the official importer of Porsche cars into Britain .
They eventually sold out to Porsche in 1987 and had AFN dealerships in the London area.
Keyrings like this one were issued with new Porsche cars and if the salesman was in a generous mood then you might receive 2 keyrings – one to use with the car and the other one for the spare keys to be stored in the glovebox – this is probably the keyring which was actually used .
An excellent addition to place with a car known to have originally been supplied by AFN .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
