Home / Online Shop / Porsche – original vintage new old stock 1960s vinyl keyring with vitreous enamel badge – collector’s item
NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original Porsche keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s .
We have just this one example to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
It is quite some time since we last listed and sold one of these original Porsche vinyl keyrings – we have seen very few of these over the years in any condition – let alone new old stock like this one .
Keyrings like this one are very easy to date as vinyl keyrings were only produced in the 1960s .
In the 1960s genuine leather was in good supply ( people ate more beef than they do today ) and vinyl was probably seen as quite an exciting modern material at the time rather than being just an economy measure – ‘cooler’ than boring old leather !
This keyring is new old stock and will probably never have been used .
The vitreous enamel badge is perfect with bright yellow, red & black vitreous enamel and is mounted onto a keyfob in light tan vinyl material.
The reverse of the badge has that ‘ so 1960’s ‘ stippled pattern in relief .
We could never understand the reason for this when a plain polished back would have sufficed !
Maybe the reason was that the stippling would give some measure of frictional stability if the badge was mounted rather loosely onto a keyfob ( and plenty of badges were mounted rather loosely ! )
The little vinyl loop retaining the badge onto the keyfob is slightly too wide for the slot in the badge – the edges of the vinyl can be seen to be slightly ‘tucked in’ .
Some time back we listed and sold an identical keyring but with a white vinyl keyfob – the badge retaining vinyl loop was slightly too wide – just the same as on this keyring .
This keyring is date correct for use with any 1960s Porsche motor car.
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSO  00/571 11/23
