This guitar is not strictly speaking a vintage guitar as it was built in 2015 – but instruments of this quality will most certainly become vintage guitars in the future .

Additionally they can only appreciate in value as guitars are one of the few commodities which younger generations are growing to appreciate and will value in the future .

What an outstanding instrument – and I am very fortunate to have owned it but have collected together rather too many guitars over the years and the time has come to thin them out a bit .

PRS Private stock acoustic guitars have never been produced in the same quantities as PRS electric instruments and very few become available to buy in UK .

This is a very special and well known instrument with a tone to match it’s looks .

Condition is mint – nothing to report whatsoever .

Together with one other PRS private stock acoustic guitar , this is the finest sounding acoustic guitar which I have ever played and that includes the best which Martin & Gibson have produced over the last 50 years .

The top is in Adirondack spruce with curly maple binding & black/maple/black purfling .

Back & sides are in solid Koa which is largely responsible for the incredible tone of this guitar .

Koa is lightweight and rigid with a wonderful tonal quality .

Koa combines the crisp clarity of maple and the warmth of rosewood with a sweet and resonant tone – and is additionally a beautiful wood with a rich natural colour but in very short supply in the grade which was used for this guitar .

The neck is in Peruvian mahogany with the headstock in African Blackwood veneer .

The distinctive soundhole rosette is in Koa mosaic .

Ebony bridge and pins, gold plated Gotoh tuners with ivoroid buttons plus bone nut & saddle .

The finish is natural throughout and in the typical PRS ultra-thin high gloss nitro cellulose which we have come to expect their instruments to be finished in .

Neck carve is wide as you expect of an acoustic instrument with fingerboard inlays in mother of pearl birds in flight and mother of pearl purfling along the fingerboard .

Nut width is 45mm .

Fishman Matrix electronics which work as they should .

Ameritage hard shell case .

The guitar came strung with 12/56 PRS coated phosphor bronze strings .

At the expense of losing a slight bit of volume I have replaced these with D’Addario silk & steel 11’s which suit me much better .

Buying an acoustic guitar of this quality and price is a major decision and I would much prefer that an intended buyer came to try the instrument out at first hand before committing to buying it .

Located 10 miles north of Boston Lincolnshire ( post code PE23 ) and the guitar could also be tried in North Norfolk near Sheringham by arrangement .
