REFERENCE ONLY (NOW SOLD)-Gilbern - original 1960s vintage keyring ( well worn condition !)

We have left the listing on view as this website is often used as a reference resource.  

An original Gilbern keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – only the second example of a completely original Gilbern keyring which we have seen over the last 10 years.

Very few of these keyrings will have originally been made.

The badgemaker’s name is on the back of the badge – A.J.Allen of Birmingham. We have never seen this maker’s name before. There were many vitreous enamellers in Birmingham in the 1960s virtually all of whom sadly no longer in business.

We would not usually list a keyring in as worn condition as this one – but Gilbern keyrings are so rare that we have made an exception in this case.

The vitreous enamel badge has enamel chips and some loss of the chrome plating.

The leather keyfob shows signs of extensive use.

Having said that –  it is still in perfectly usable condition . We have seen very much worse !
