Rolls Royce - original vintage 1960s CUD torpedo dealership keyring- collector's item

An original vintage Rolls Royce keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s .

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

The condition of this keyring is very good with age related patina which can only be gained by careful use over the passage of considerable time and very many thousands of miles travelled.

This is the condition which we like to find a vintage keyring in.

The nickel plated badge has black vitreous enamel detail and is mounted onto a torpedo keyfob in genuine full grain black leather.

The back of the keyfob is gold embossed with the supplying dealership details- Mead of Maidenhead- although the embossed details are now fading.

This keyring would have been supplied with a new Rolls Royce motor car supplied by Mead at that time.

No maker’s mark is visible but the keyring was made by  CUD ( Castle Unit Developments of Castle Gate Leicester ) No other badgemakers at the time were producing torpedo design keyrings .

The quality of CUD’s products is already legendary and they produced these torpedo keyrings up until the late 1960s.

The famous Rolls Royce dealership of Mead of Maidenhead needs no further introduction from us apart from to mention that John Lennon bought his Phantom V ( FJB 111C ) brand new from the dealership in June 1965.

That car would undoubtedly have been supplied with the exact same keyring as the one in this listing ( we are not suggesting that this could be John Lennon’s keyring but if it turns out to be his then we will wish we hadn’t sold it ! )

A superb original keyring correct in every way for use with any 1960s Rolls Royce motor car and especially if that car was know to have been supplied from Mead.
