Home / Online Shop / Rover – original vintage 1960s new old stock torpedo keyring – collectors item
Original vintage Rover torpedo keyrings which will have been produced in the 1960s .
When these keyrings have all been sold this listing will be cancelled .
These keyrings are new old stock – so are in mint condition.
The vitreous enamel badges are mounted onto genuine leather torpedo keyfobs gold embossed ‘ Real Morocco Made in England’
Morocco was a term used for goatskin – and the fine pebbly appearance of the leather suggests that this is indeed goatskin.
Torpedo keyrings were made by Castles Unit Developments of Castle Gate Leicester UK in the early 1960s. They were the only manufacturer making torpedos.
It is believed that Castles then changed their name very briefly to ‘Craftsman’ before ceasing production altogether. We do very occasionally come across torpedo keyrings marked ‘Craftsman’. An American connection has also been rumoured but so far has not substantiated.
Morocco leather is more an American term than a British one – even though the keyfob is gold embossed ‘Made In England’.
These keyrings are original & correct for use with any 1960s Rover motor car .
When all the keyrings have been sold then this listing will cancel.
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason or cancel your order – a full refund will be given.
