Very few keyrings like this one will have survived over the last 60 years .

This original Singer keyring is in very good condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in black vinyl .

Vinyl was commonly used for keyfobs at the time – it was seen as a ‘cool’ new material and much more interesting than ‘boring’ old leather .

Additionally it is waterproof and was considered more relevant for use in an open topped car ( quite a few Singers were convertibles ) – goodness knows what the rest of the car interior would have been like if even the keyring got wet !
