Skoda – original 1990s new old stock Renamel keyring with an acrylic badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine green leather

An original Skoda keyring which will have been produced during the 1990s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This keyring is in new old stock condition and we would not think that it will ever have been used.

The plated metal badge has a domed  acrylic insert and is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine green leather .

It will have been produced  by Renamel at their final Honeypot Lane London location – they were still the main producer of these acrylic badged keyrings at the time although other manufacturers were also producing keyrings with acrylic badges .

Renamel’s keyrings were usually produced in imitation leather but this keyring is actually in genuine green leather .

These acrylic badges had a very important advantage over the more traditional vitreous badges – they didn’t crack or break when dropped onto a hard surface .

Keyrings with these badges were cheaper to buy than their vitreous enamel badged counterparts .

As these keyrings were relatively cheap to buy at the time they were not particularly valued and were soon discarded when they became worn or when the owner changed to another make of car – so relatively few of these keyrings may have survived .
