A superb original Standard dealership torpedo keyring .

This keyring dates from the late 1950s or very early 1960s .

The keyring is in excellent condition apart from a scuff on the base of the badge over the ‘ST’ of ‘STANDARD’ which has marked the enamel and scuffed the nickel plating on the ‘ST’ and at the base of the badge .

This can hardly be seen when viewed at life size but can be seen in the enlarged high resolution photos .

The nickel plated badge has vitreous enamel detail and is mounted onto a genuine leather torpedo keyfob gold embossed with the supplying dealership’s Kensington High Road, London details.

Made by Castles Unit Development Co. of Castle Gate, Leicester ( CUD ) – they were the only manufacturers who made torpedo keyrings in this most distinctive torpedo shape.

Castle’s automotive keyring products were exported all over the world – it was quite an industry at the time.

This keyring would originally have been supplied with a new Standard motor car sold by this dealership .
