Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Standard - original vintage new old stock 1970s dealership keyring ?

£19.95

1 in stock

An original Standard keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1970s – when there were still many thousands of Standard cars in daily use on the roads and still being sold as used cars and in need of keyrings .

We have just this one keyring in this new old stock condition to offer -when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is a bit of a mystery !

This keyring is an original new old stock item probably dating from the 1970s and the condition is mint .

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .

Apparently made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham who were the main manufacturers of quality leather car keyrings at that time – the leather keyfob has Melsom’s ‘ KEYFLIX ‘ trademark embossed beneath the badge ……………..but the badge does not appear to be one of Melsom’s badges .

We do wonder if this keyring was produced in the 1970s after Melsom Products Ltd had closed – with the maker of this keyring using left over Melsom Products leather keyfobs to mount their badges onto ?

To add to the mystery this keyring could have been issued by a dealership as there are Sales & Service telephone numbers gold embossed onto the back of the leather keyfob…………but nothing that we recognise and we do wonder if the details could relate to a continental dealership with the keyring having been made in England for them .

In the late 1960s and 1970s almost all car keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
