Standard - original vintage new old stock 1970s? keyring

An original Standard keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1970s – when there were still many thousands of Standard cars in daily use on the roads and in need of keyrings .

We have just this one keyring in this new old stock condition to offer -when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled

This keyring is an original new old stock item probably dating from the 1970s and the condition is mint .

The vitreous enamel badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine tan leather .

Apparently made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham who were the main manufacturers of quality leather car keyrings at that time – the leather keyfob has Melsom’s ‘ KEYFLIX ‘ trademark embossed beneath the badge ……………..but the badge does not appear to be one of Melsom’s badges .

We do wonder if this keyring was produced in the 1970s after Melsom Products Ltd had closed – with the maker of this keyring using left over Melsom Products leather keyfobs to mount their badges onto ?

In the late 1960s and 1970s almost all car keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry .
