1 in stock

An original Sunbeam motorcycle keyring which will have been produced in the 1950s .

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

We have just this one example of this rare keyring to offer which is the only one of its type which we have ever seen for Sunbeam- we have seen just one other badge like this but it was not mounted onto it’s original keyfob like this one – and we mounted it onto one of our own keyfobs in order to offer it for sale ( here in the shop unless now sold )

Original Sunbeam motorcycle keyrings are scarce – probably because Sunbeam motorcycle production ended in 1956 just as keyrings for cars and motorcycles were beginning to be produced.

Sunbeam S7 & S8 motorcycles ceased production in 1956 but were available for purchase up until 1958 .

The cobalt blue and sky blue vitreous enamel on gilt badge is bonded to the chrome backplate which is in turn attached to the keyfob itself which is in a leather effect vinyl material.

Having been protected from the ultra violet rays of sunlight for all those years – the vinyl is still as fresh & pliable as the day it was made.
Vinyl was commonly used rather than leather for motor cycle & scooter keyfobs on the grounds that it is waterproof.
A soaking wet leather keyfob can become rather soggy !

The keyring is in excellent condition considering it’s age – the surface of the enamel is showing slight abrasive wear which hardly surprising after all these years.

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.

When it has been sold this listing will cancel.
