Original Vintage & Restored Leather Keyrings for Classic Cars & Motorcycles

Toyota - original 1970s blue vitreous enamel 'prancing stallion' badge inlaid into a new leather keyfob

NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered

An original Toyota badge which will have been produced in the 1970s which we have remounted inlaid into a leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.

We have just this one keyring with this inlaid badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This blue ‘prancing stallion’ Toyota badge seems to be the badge which owners prefer !

We have had just a few original examples of these badges over the years which we remounted onto new leather keyfobs and all have sold quickly.

This particular badge inlaid into this keyfob had been made without the metal loop on top of the badge and was probably originally made as a gear lever knob insert.

The badge was originally made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham.

At that time almost all keyrings and keyfob badges for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.

We have inlaid this badge into a new keyfob in black pigskin leather – pigskin was sometimes used for keyfobs in the 1960s & 1970s – usually for prestige cars such as Jaguar & Aston Martin.

Pigskin was prized for it’s appearance and hard wearing characteristics ( ideal for keyfobs which receive a lot of handling )

This badge is original & correct for use with any late 1960s ( not many of them ! ) or 1970s Toyota motor car- or this keyring could be used as a stylish ‘retro’ keyring in a much later car.

Due to it’s popularity this blue ‘prancing stallion’ Toyota badge has recently been copied by others with those copies appearing on internet auction sites etc.

The copies do not have the Melsom Products Ltd details on the back of the badges – neither are they made using vitreous enamel ( they are in modern resin based ‘enamel’ )

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive . SMOSO  00/54   11/22
