An original Triumph keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s

We have just this one keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

An original Triumph vinyl keyring like this one is a scarce item – thousands will have originally been made but we would expect that almost all will have become worn out or been discarded or lost by now.

This keyring is in really excellent original condition and is a ‘time warp ‘ survivor and is exactly what was being used in Triumph cars in the 1960s – particularly open topped cars such as TRs .

The vitreous enamel badge is virtually perfect and is mounted onto a keyfob in blue vinyl material which is in excellent condition .

The key clasp works as intended and opens up to allow the key (s) to be fitted and then closes again securely .

Goodness knows where this keyring will have been for the last 50 + years to remain in this condition…………probably residing at the back of a drawer in a cabinet .

In the 1960s vinyl was not viewed just as a leather subsitute – it was seen as a ‘cool’ new material and much more interesting than boring old leather .

Additionally it was often used for convertible cars – like the Triumph TR range – on account of it being waterproof.

If the keyring got wet – we would hate to think what was happening to the rest of the car’s leather interior !

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
