1 in stock
An original Triumph TR2 keyring which will actually have been produced during the 1950s probably just after the final TR2 left the production line to be replaced by the TR3 .
Unsurprisingly we have just this one keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
Apart from the one later 1970s TR2 keyring which we currently have listed …………..over the years we have only previously listed just one other original period keyring dating from the 1950s for Triumph TR2 – it is doubtful if any keyrings were produced for the car actually at the time when the cars were produced as the very earliest car keyrings only date from around 1955 – just as the TR2 went out of production to be replaced by the TR3 .
We would think that this keyring will have been produced around 1956 when there were lots of TR2s on the roads being used as daily drivers .
This keyring will be original & correct for use with 1953 – 1955 Triumph TR2 .
What a sensational keyring – at one time we assumed that original keyrings were never produced at the time for use with TR2 !
This original keyring is in excellent condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine black leather .
The vitreous enamel badge is in really superb condition whilst the leather keyfob is in very good serviceable condition .
Whilst being a valuable collector’s item this keyring could still be used almost on a daily basis in a car ……………it is not often that we are able to say that about a 70 year old keyring !!
It will probably never be known which manufacturer actually made this keyring – in the 1950s and 1960s there were many vitreous enamel badgemakers in the Birmingham area and we would think that it will have been one of them who made this keyring .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
Here is a very rare opportunity to place a completely original TR2 keyring from the time with your car .
With the benefit of almost 20 years experience , quite honestly we never expect to see another original TR2 keyring in this condition .
Certainly an expensive item …………but these are the price levels that rare keyrings in this condition for interesting cars change hands at these days .
