Triumph TR3 – original 1960s vitreous enamel badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob

An original TR3 keyfob badge which we would think will have been produced during the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos .

We have just this one keyring with this badge to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

A superb keyfob badge with jewellery quality vitreous enamelling .

This original vitreous enamel TR3 keyfob badge is in virtually mint condition and came to us together with an identical keyfob badge for TR4 ( also currently listed remounted unless now sold )

We would think that the firm which produced them had decided to produce both badges at the same time for reasons of economy .

In that case this TR3 badge could have been produced  some years after the final TR3 was built ( 1961 ) but there would still have been a very large number of TR3s at that time in daily use and candidates for keyrings .

When the first TR3s were built in 1955 car keyrings were in their infancy – it was not until the very late 1950s and early 1960s that car keyrings started to be produced and become available in any quantity – for which reason ‘original’ TR3 keyrings are very scarce items .

There is no maker’s mark on the reverse of this badge ( quite usual in the 196os ) although we are also currently listing a complete original TR3 keyring with an identical badge which does have a maker’s mark ( unless now sold )

We would think that the badge on this keyring will have been produced by the same maker and this could well be the case as makers did not consistently mark their badges .

The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive and the badge is correct for 1955 -1961 Triumph TR3 & TR3A .
