Vauxhall Chevette – original new old stock 1980s Renamel keyring with acrylic badge and genuine green leather keyfob

An original Vauxhall Chevette keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1980s .

We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in new old stock condition with an acrylic dome badge mounted onto a keyfob of a generous thickness in genuine green leather  .

Renamel produced some of the first acrylic badged keyrings which had the very real advantage over traditional vitreous enamel badged keyrings in that the badge did not crack or break when dropped onto a hard surface .

Renamel’s original badges were marked ‘ RENAMEL made in England’ on the reverse but later badges like the one mounted onto this keyring were no longer marked.

Renamel’s keyrings were almost always produced in imitation leather but this keyring is an exception as the keyfob is in genuine green leather .

Renamel keyrings were budget priced but were well made and were produced in considerable numbers but not many like this one will have survived particularly in this condition – so we would regard this keyring as being a rare survivor of a keyring in very common use at the time and as such will be original & correct for use in a car produced around the same time .
