Original 50 year old Velocette keyrings are relatively scarce items – almost all that were made will by now have been lost or thrown away when they wore out.
These keyrings were used in anger on open motorcycles in all weathers at a time when the bikes were being used for daily transport rather than as cosseted classics as they are now !
This original keyring is a rare survivor of the keyrings which were actually being used on the bikes at the time.
The keyring is in very good serviceable condition with a vitreous enamel badge mounted onto a faux leather keyfob.
Imitation leather was often used for bike keyrings as it is much more weatherproof than genuine leather.
Despite this the back of the keyfob is plainly embossed with the leather symbol – but the keyfob is not genuine leather !
This deception was widespread in the 1960s & 1970s long before trades description legislation had grown teeth.
The keyfob looks to have had a pin stuck through it at some time beneath the badge ( hardly noticeable ) ………..curiously we often see this with vintage keyrings and can only assume that the bike may have been sold and the owner then pinned the keyring up in the bike shed as a memento of the bike- all part of the fascination of these vintage keyrings !
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive.
When it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason or cancel your order – a full refund will be given.
