Home / Online Shop / Volkswagen – original 1960s full colour vitreous enamel Wolfsburg crest CUD badge remounted onto a new leather keyfob
NOW SOLD – sorry this keyring has now been sold and can no longer be ordered
An original Volkswagen keyfob badge which will have been produced in the 1960s which we have remounted onto a new leather keyfob as can be seen in the photos.
Just this one keyring with this badge with some enamel damage ( see below ) to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
These Wolfsburg crest badges were produced in the 1960s by CUD of Leicester in black enamel and also in this full colour enamel .
The last badge like this one that we listed and sold remounted some time ago was in a very similar condition with several enamel chips .
This original full colour vitreous enamel Volkswagen Wolfsburg crest keyfob badge is in fair condition for it’s age .
These badges are scarce and a degree of damage often has to be accepted as the keyrings which the badges were mounted onto obviously received a lot of use at the time
The enlarged high resolution listing photos reveal that there are several enamel chips although these are not particularly noticeable when the badge is viewed in the hand at life size .
The main Wolfsburg castle & Wolf depicted in the badge are thankfully free of any chips and do stand out well against the light blue background.
The badge was made by CUD ( Castles Unit Development Co. ) of Leicester whose details are cast into the back of the badge .
Curiously Premier Badges of London also made an identical badge at the time – there may have been a tie-up between the two companies or maybe one company poached the design off the other ?? ……………We shall never know .
We have remounted the badge onto a new keyfob in ‘ vintage’ full grain leather .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive. SMOSOÂ 00570126
