Volkswagen - original late 1960s/ early 1970s vitreous enamel gear knob badge inlaid into a new leather keyfob

The Volkswagen  keyring in this listing has an original gear lever knob insert badge which will have been produced over 45 years ago .

We have just this one keyring with this inlaid badge to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled .

This original vitreous enamel badge is in mint original condition and will never have been used for it’s original intended use .

The vitreous enamelling is as bright and lustrous as when it was fired over 45 years ago .

Badges like this one will have been produced for inlaying into gear knobs at the time – but lend themselves to inlaying into keyrings which is something which we have done with other gear knob badges for other makes of car over the years .

The badge has been bonded onto an oversized thin brass plate and has then been inlaid flush with the surface of the leather and stitched into the leather keyfob .

This has resulted in a superb keyring with the ‘ immortal ‘ V over W logo which could be used in any 1960s or 1970s classic Volkswagen car but would look equally at home being used as a retro keyring in a modern car .
