Volkswagen – original vintage 1960s new old stock Wolfsburg crest melsom keyflix keyring with tan leather keyfob

The keyrings in this listing are original vintage items which were produced around 50 years ago .

When they have all been sold this listing will be cancelled .

We still have just a few of these ‘grade one’ original Volkswagen Wolfsburg crest keyrings with tan leather keyfobs to offer which date from the 1960s.

When these have all been sold we will then be listing ‘grade two’ keyrings all of which will have a flaw of some description .

What superb keyrings these are !

These keyrings are rare survivors of keyrings which were actually being used in the cars at the time and came to us in a collection of keyrings which had been in store since the 1960s.

They are new old stock and have never been used – hence their condition is virtually mint apart from some very slight storage marks on the light tan leather which of course does show every mark .

Very lightly embossed into the leather beneath the badges is the word ‘keyflix’ which was Melsom Product’s trademark- in some cases this can hardly be seen.

The nickel plated vitreous enamel badges show the Wolfsburg crest and are mounted onto keyfobs in genuine tan leather .

They were made by Melsom Products Ltd of Birmingham at the time – Melsom’s details are cast into the back of the badges .

At that time almost all keyrings for the world’s cars were made in England – it was quite an industry.

These keyrings will be original & correct for use with any 1960s or early 1970s Volkswagen motor cars or could be used as rather nice ‘retro’ keyrings in much later cars by owners who like to drive with a traditional leather keyring ( as we do of course ! )
