An original Volkswagen keyring which will have been produced in the 1960s.

When this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring was made by Avon Cliff badgemakers in the 1960s – their style of keyring is very distinctive .

This is the only Avon Cliff Volkswagen keyring which we have ever seen and listed – we have seen quite a few for other makes of car .

The keyring is in superb condition – probably new old stock having never been used .

The vitreous enamel badge shows the Wolfsburg Castle and Wolf over water in the most incredible detail – and this is ‘just’ a keyring !

The badge is mounted onto a keyfob in genuine charcoal grey leather – how many car keyrings were produced in charcoal grey leather over 50 years ago ?

It is unbelievable how much trouble Avon Cliff put into making their keyrings which must have been individually hand selected and stitched to achieve such variation of leather colours .

Nowadays this level of attention is termed ‘bespoke’ – here we see an example of this taking place over 50 years ago !
