Volkswagen – original vintage late 1950s/ early 1960s keyring – collector’s item

An original Volkswagen keyring which will have been produced in the late 1950s or early 1960s.

We have just this one example to offer – when this keyring has been sold this listing will be cancelled.

This keyring is in superb condition – probably new old stock having never been used .

It is very rare to find an original 60 year old Volkswagen keyring let alone one in this condition .

The translucent red & green vitreous enamel badge is bonded to a plated shield shaped metal mount which is in turn mounted onto a shield shaped keyfob in genuine black leather embossed to resemble elephant hide .

The leather is not made from elephants of course – this was simply a term used at the time to describe the texture/ applied grain of the leather which was genuine leather which had been pressure embossed with a highly textured grain .

A lovely original keyring which would be correct for use with any 1950s or 1960s Volkswagen motor car .
