1 in stock
An original Volkswagen Owner’s Club GB keyring which we would think will have been produced in the 1990s .
We have just this one example of this keyring to offer – when it has been sold this listing will be cancelled.
The Volkswagen Owner’s Club GB was established in 1953 .
This keyring is in new old stock condition with an acrylic dome badge mounted onto a keyfob in genuine very dark navy blue ( almost black ! )Â leather .
This keyring was produced by Renamel in their final Honeypot Lane London location shortly before they closed their doors .
Renamel produced quite a range of keyrings in their own distinctive style for Volkswagen models – something which other keyring manufacturers generally neglected to do .
They also produced some of the first acrylic badged keyrings in the late 1970s & 1980s which had the very real advantage over traditional vitreous enamel badged keyrings in that the badge did not crack or break when dropped onto a hard surface .
The badge is marked ‘ RENAMEL London England’ on the reverse .
Renamel’s keyrings were almost always produced in imitation leather but this keyring is an exception as the keyfob is in genuine leather .
It may be that they had bought in stocks of leather keyfob blanks from another manufacturer who had ceased trading or changed production .
Their keyrings were budget priced but were well made and were produced in considerable numbers but not many like this one will have survived particularly in this condition – so we would regard this keyring as being a rare survivor of a keyring in common use at the time and as such will be original & correct for use in a car produced around the same time .
The keyring in the photos is the actual one which you will receive .
